Explore the 2026 Agenda: Women's Day Exchange UK 2026

Thursday, November 5, 2026
8:30 AM - 9:00 AM

9:00 AM - 9:10 AM

9:10 AM - 9:55 AM

This opening panel offers a practical “reset” for GCs - a chance to reflect on what genuinely worked over the past year, how the role has evolved, and where to focus next. Panellists will share candid perspectives on the decisions, habits and priorities that delivered the greatest value, and how they are thinking about the year ahead as expectations, scrutiny and pace continue to shift. While grounded in panel discussion, the session is designed to actively involve the room. To anchor reflection in action, attendees will be invited to capture one or two priorities for the year ahead and a clear first step to take. The emphasis is on setting goals that are focused, relevant and measurable, so participants leave with a practical takeaway they can return to well beyond the event.

9:55 AM - 10:40 AM

Takeovers, mergers and restructurings can quickly make the organisation itself the main source of risk. For legal leaders, this often means tighter timelines, shifting power and increased personal exposure. This panel looks at how GCs lead through structural uncertainty, when roles, reporting lines and decision‑makers are changing. The discussion will focus on how legal leaders maintain authority, exercise judgement and support the business when outcomes are unclear. Panellists will share how organisational change reshapes the GC role, how to lead teams without all the answers, and what it takes to remain effective and credible as the organisation evolves.

10:40 AM - 11:00 AM

11:00 AM - 11:45 AM

AI is firmly on the legal agenda, but turning experimentation into everyday use remains a challenge. This session focuses on practical AI use in in‑house legal teams - what is working, what isn’t, and what teams are genuinely using day to day. The discussion will centre on real examples, collaboration with teams and the small behaviour changes that make AI useful. Panellists will share what they’ve learned from early adoption, where keeping things simple works best, and how GCs can encourage uptake without overcomplicating or overwhelming their teams.

11:45 AM - 12:30 PM

Whistleblowing issues often place GCs in the most difficult position - balancing legal duties, confidentiality obligations and personal exposure at the same time. This panel explores how GCs navigate whistleblowing matters when the issues are contentious, and the stakes are high. The discussion will centre on how legal leaders exercise judgement, protect confidentiality, and manage risk when there are no easy or comfortable options. Panellists will share how they approach difficult whistleblowing scenarios, what guides their decision‑making, and how to remain credible and protected when caught between competing obligations.

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

1:30 PM - 2:30 PM

2:30 PM - 3:15 PM

DE&I and ESG remain important for many organisations, but how they are prioritised and resourced is changing. For GCs, this means advising on risk and credibility at a time when scrutiny is still high, but expectations are shifting. This panel looks at how GCs are re‑thinking their approach to DE&I and ESG in practice. The discussion will focus on how legal leaders assess risk, maintain credibility, and guide the business through change. Panellists will share how they are responding to changing expectations, where commitments are being refined, and what continues to shape decision‑making in a more complex environment.

3:15 PM - 4:00 PM

Senior legal leaders often have to manage challenging dynamics in the room - from passive resistance to open challenge - often under pressure. How those moments are handled can determine whether decisions move forward or stall. This session looks at how GCs recognise and manage different personality styles in high‑stakes meetings without losing authority. The discussion will focus on practical judgement: spotting behaviours as they arise and choosing responses that keep discussions on track. Panellists will share how they handle difficult dynamics, maintain credibility, and guide conversations to outcomes when personalities clash.
