Christel Banks, Senior Legal Consultant and previously Group General Counsel, brings a pragmatic, commercially focused approach to complex legal, governance and ethical challenges in UK and international businesses, including experience setting up and advising on whistleblowing policies and procedures and advising on whistleblowing reports. Earlier this year, Christel worked with other members of The Eagle Club to co-author a paper responding to the Law Society’s draft whistleblowing guidance for in-house lawyers, the SRA guidance on professional obligations and implications for privilege. She is also a charity trustee, with safeguarding responsibilities, bringing an additional perspective on accountability, the duty to speak up and the challenges of balancing confidentiality with the need to raise concerns.
