The Middle East Legal Awards, which are jointly hosted by Legal Week and the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Middle East chapter, have fast become the region’s premier legal awards and they continue to attract the best of the best. The ceremony will take place at the Ritz-Carlton, Dubai, Jumeirah Beach Residence, welcoming more than 300 private practice and in-house representatives.

The Awards are open to all law firms and in-house legal departments with a presence in the region. They celebrate outstanding achievement within the profession. By recognising exceptional achievement and best practice they underline the crucial role lawyers are playing in promoting the rule of law.

This year sees the introduction of seven new categories:

  • In-House Deal Team of the Year
  • Compliance Innovator of the Year
  • In-House Community Team of the Year
  • Best Use of Technology by an In-House Team
  • Rising Star Award - In-House
  • Rising Star Award - Private Practice
  • Most Promising Newcomer Award - Private Practice

Four of the new awards beef up the In-House Lawyer’s section, including In-House Deal Team of the Year, which recognises the crucial role in-house lawyers play in getting the region’s deals over the line, and Compliance Innovator of the Year - a tribute to the growing importance of compliance in the Middle East. The Rising Star and Most Promising Newcomer Awards seek to identify the region’s pre-eminent lawyers of tomorrow.
