This new award aims to recognize law firms use technology to improve efficiency and add value to their services. Firms may enter programs using artificial intelligence or other technological innovation during discovery, due diligence and documentation. Please describe how the program or initiative works, who are the key members and the scale it has been implemented. Entries may include evidence of program achievements such as statistics, references and written feedback from clients that illustrate its success.

This recognizes projects or initiatives that best honor the spirit of pro bono and social responsibility during the period. Consideration will be given to all law firm initiatives that aspire to a higher professional calling, including pro bono work, environmental stewardship, diversity programs, responsible contracting, philanthropy, volunteer work, and adherence to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Special attention will be given to entries that demonstrate a high-level, focused, and creative effort to use the unique skills of lawyers throughout a law firm’s office and practice network to benefit the less fortunate in local Chinese communities.

The Rising Star In-House Counsel of the Year category is open to in-house lawyers who are based in China who do not hold the position of general counsel or head of legal and have between four and 10 years of experience.
