Tumi Morake
With a comedy career spanning over 20 years and with numerous nominations and awards (including Comic of the Year and Favourite Comedian) under her belt, Tumi Morake continues to be a formidable force in the comedy industry.
Since beginning her comedy career in smoky clubs in 2006, she has steadily grown into one of SA’s most sought after comedians, earning her the title of South Africa’s ‘First Lady of Comedy’ – not bad for a wife and mother of three.
- Embarked on her first official South African tour in 2017
- Co-host on Jacaranda FM Breakfast Show alongside Martin Bester
- She was the 2017 brand ambassador for Menlyn Jaguar Landrover
- She hosted her own TV show #WTFTUMI, from 2017 to 2019. She went on to host the second season of Point of Order as well as talkshow Red Cake alongside Alan Committie
- Co-presenter (alongside Somizi) for the 2017 South African Music Awards, with the highest viewership of the awards since their inception.
- Host of Sunday Sexy Love, returning for its second season in 2023.
- Finland and New York collaborative comedy show(2022), Atlanta clubs(2022-), Australian residency 2017 and 2018, UK Funny Fest, Doha World Cup comedy build up(2022), Dubai SA comedy fest(2022).
Morake has been, master of ceremony for major companies such as Anglo, Discovery, MTN, SAB, Rand Merchant, Old Mutual and Vodacom to name a few.
