Description
If you're using your face to unlock your phone, your eyes to unlock a door, or a fingerprint to verify your identity in some way you're using biometric technology. In 2008, Illinois became the first state to regulate the collection of biometric information with BIPA, which required a written release in order for companies to collect this type of data. Since then both Washington and Texas have also passed similar privacy laws. Today, we're seeing the effects of these regulations with a wave of biometric class action suits and some additional state attempting to pass their own regulations. This session will review the requirements of BIPA and what you need to understand to protect your organization.
