Sasha Grinberg is a member of the firm's Private Client Group. She represents individuals and fiduciaries with respect to complex cross-border planning, trust and estate administration, charitable giving, trust and estate disputes, and family law issues. Sasha frequently works with clients, attorneys, fiduciaries and investment advisers within and outside the United States.
Sasha is a frequent speaker at industry events on a wide variety of topics affecting the Private Client space. Most recently, she presented a webinar on the subject of “Estate Planning for Resident and Non-Resident Aliens” for Strafford, and she moderated a panel on “A Comparison of Trust and Trust Company Laws in Key U.S. Jurisdictions” at the 2019 New Hampshire Trust Conference. She also led presentations on “Structuring Foreign Investments in U.S. Real Estate After the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act” at the Trans Trusts Bermuda conference and New Hampshire Trust Conference. In addition to her numerous speaking engagements, Sasha co-authored the Private Client 2018 and 2019 chapters on the “Laws and Regulations in the USA” in the International Comparative Legal Guides (ICLG) and published “A Structured Guide to Wills and Probate in the USA” on Lexology.
Sasha is a member of the American Bar Association (Section on Real Property, Probate and Trust Law), the New York State Bar Association (Trusts and Estates Law Section), and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). Sasha was named a Rising Star in the 2016, 2017, and 2018 New York Super Lawyers guides. Sasha was also selected to the 2017 and 2018 “Ones to Watch” Private Client Global Elite list. She received her J.D. from the University of Washington where she was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society. She received her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Washington where she was a member of the Dean’s List, and an LL.M. in Taxation from the New York University School of Law. Sasha is fluent in Russian and is currently admitted to practice in the State of New York.
