How to Have a Magnificent Mid-Life Crisis

An insightful and humorous talk and Q&A from women's health campaigner Kate Muir based on her new book, ‘How to Have a Magnificent Midlife Crisis’. Forget everything you've been told about midlife - and how it's a moment of decline. On the contrary, it's a wildly exciting time of transformation. Kate offers an empowering guide to the future, based on scientific research, personal experience and the courageous and funny stories of women. From taking advantage of brain rewiring in menopause to upgrading your relationships at work and home, and finding creative renaissance, it's time to renew and refresh.

10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
The Rise of the Introverted Leader

Not all leaders look or sound alike - and nor should they. This session explores how introversion, reflection, and varied strengths can create powerful leadership identities. We’ll examine the myth of the “natural” manager, the expectations placed on lawyers to excel at everything, and how partnership models can better recognise and support diverse skillsets. The discussion will also touch on business development, influence, and leaning on support structures without losing authenticity.

Why ‘Setting Boundaries’ Makes Our Eyes Roll: Dealing With Generational Differences

Workplace values and motivations have shifted profoundly across generations. This session explores how mental health, boundary-setting, ambition and culture now intersect with productivity and profit. We will examine how firms can motivate those for whom Partnership just isn’t that enticing, attract emerging talent, manage entitlement narratives, and support leaders who feel pulled in many directions. The conversation will consider both internal team dynamics and evolving expectations from clients across generations.

Money, Power & Perspective: Redefining Financial Confidence

Women’s financial strength is reshaping investment, advisory culture, and client expectations - yet bias, assumptions, and outdated narratives remain. This discussion explores how we as advisors can shift industry norms, challenge “mansplaining” mindsets, and cultivate approaches that support confidence, client loyalty and generational relevance. Together, we’ll consider how success looks when we lead on our own terms rather than repeating inherited patterns.

2:45 PM - 3:45 PM
Intentional Influence

Mentorship matters, but sponsorship changes careers. This final session looks at how women can support one another through intentional influence, visibility, and opportunity-sharing.  We will discuss building networks in ways that feel natural (not performative), cultivating community, accelerating women into leadership roles, and empowering the next generation. The session closes with a forward-looking conversation about collective leadership and legacy.
