| 2:20 PM - 3:00 PM | As international families navigate technological change, geopolitical uncertainty, market volatility, evolving tax regimes and longer life expectancy, the role of the private client lawyer is becoming increasingly strategic and multidisciplinary. This session will explore how advisers help clients translate complexity into practical decision-making, coordinate across legal, tax, investment and governance disciplines, and adapt planning structures to changing global and family circumstances while managing risk, preserving continuity and supporting long-term objectives across generations. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 3:30 PM - 4:10 PM | As wealth structures become increasingly exposed to cross-border litigation, family conflict, creditor claims and enforcement risk, families are placing greater emphasis on governance, independence and institutional oversight. This session will explore the growing importance of appointing professional trustees, the practical and strategic considerations involved in replacing individual or family-appointed trustees, and how professional fiduciary structures can help strengthen decision-making, reduce conflicts, improve defensibility and protect family assets in contentious situations. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 4:10 PM - 4:50 PM | As offshore structures continue to evolve, purpose trusts and protector arrangements are increasingly being used in ways that test the traditional boundaries of trust law. This session will examine whether purpose trusts are being extended beyond their original rationale, the circumstances in which protectors are required or strategically desirable, and how protector powers are reshaping modern fiduciary structures. The discussion will explore whether these developments represent legitimate innovation in wealth structuring or whether they create additional uncertainty, governance concerns and litigation risk. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 4:50 PM - 4:55 PM | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 4:50 PM - 5:50 PM | As unprecedented levels of wealth pass between generations, families and advisers are increasingly focused on how to preserve assets, maintain family cohesion and prepare beneficiaries for responsibility. This session will explore the growing use of trusts, governance structures and control mechanisms designed to manage inherited wealth, while questioning whether excessive control can create unintended consequences, conflict and dependency. The discussion will examine the broader risks associated with generational wealth transfer, including family disputes, entitlement, lack of preparedness and governance failures, and consider practical approaches to building structures that promote resilience, accountability and long-term stewardship rather than future litigation and dysfunction. | A new generation of entrepreneurs is creating and realising wealth at unprecedented speed, driven by technology, AI, digital platforms and accelerated liquidity events. This session will explore the unique planning challenges facing founders and newly wealthy individuals, including evolving remuneration structures, early-stage succession and estate planning, cross-border mobility, governance considerations and the increasing importance of asset protection in a volatile legal, economic and geopolitical environment. The discussion will also consider how advisers can help entrepreneurial clients balance growth, liquidity, personal risk and long-term wealth preservation. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 9:00 AM - 9:05 AM | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 9:05 AM - 9:45 AM | As political and economic dynamics continue to shift across Latin America, private clients and their advisers are increasingly required to navigate changing regulatory environments, tax reforms, currency pressures and evolving approaches to wealth, investment and capital mobility. Focusing on developments in Latin America, this session will provide a strategic regional update on the geopolitical, legal and economic trends shaping private client planning, examining the risks, opportunities and practical implications for internationally connected families and their advisers. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 9:45 AM - 10:25 AM | As tax, regulatory and immigration regimes continue to shift across the UK and North America, internationally mobile families are reassessing where they live, invest and structure their wealth. This session will examine how political and fiscal developments in the United States are contributing to outbound migration among high-net-worth individuals, including the practical implications of exit tax regimes and cross-border restructuring. The discussion will also consider recent UK reforms, the factors driving both emigration and inbound relocation, and the broader impact these trends are having on the movement of private wealth, family offices and internationally connected entrepreneurs. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 10:25 AM - 11:05 AM | A spirited debate examining the rapid rise of artificial intelligence and its implications for society, business and governance. The discussion will challenge differing perspectives on whether AI is primarily a transformative force driving productivity, innovation and access to knowledge, or whether it introduces significant risks related to bias, misinformation, job displacement, regulation and loss of control. Panellists will explore where meaningful safeguards are needed, how responsibility should be allocated between developers and users, and whether current regulatory approaches are keeping pace with technological change. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 11:05 AM - 11:30 PM | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 11:30 AM - 12:10 PM | As global families increasingly hold assets, structures and family members across multiple jurisdictions, succession planning is becoming more vulnerable to conflicts between civil law and common law systems. This session will explore the practical challenges that arise when trusts, foundations, matrimonial regimes and forced-heirship rules intersect internationally. We will focus on pre-nuptial and succession agreements, the cross-border recognition of trusts and foundations, and the tensions between forced heirship and common law planning structures. Considering different jurisdictions, we will share practical approaches to making international estate plans more “dispute-proof,” including governance mechanisms, trustee selection, protectors and no-contest clauses designed to reduce future litigation risk. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12:10 PM - 12:15 PM | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 12:15 PM - 1:15 PM | As attitudes towards marriage, wealth and asset protection continue to evolve, pre-nuptial agreements are becoming an increasingly important feature of cross-border planning for high-net-worth individuals. This session will explore shifting social and legal perspectives on pre-nups, including how approaches can differ significantly depending on the parties’ wealth, jurisdictions and expectations around relationships. The discussion will examine enforceability across jurisdictions, the impact of divorce tourism, practical drafting considerations, including the treatment of lifestyle and fidelity clauses, and key tips for ensuring agreements are both effective and resilient in practice. | As investment migration programmes come under increasing political scrutiny, the Golden Visa landscape is rapidly evolving, reshaping how internationally mobile families plan their residence, taxation and long-term structuring. This session will provide a strategic overview of key jurisdictions including Greece, Spain, the United States and Portugal, examining recent reforms, tightening eligibility criteria and shifting policy priorities. The discussion will also explore what happens after residency is obtained, focusing on the legal, tax and compliance challenges that arise when immigration status, tax residence rules and family office structures are not fully aligned, and how advisers can anticipate and manage these tensions in cross-border planning. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| 10:15 AM - 11:35 AM | A practical, scenario-based session examining applications for disclosure in trust disputes, focusing on requests by beneficiaries for access to trust documentation, including letters of wishes and underlying financial or administrative information. The session will explore the legal principles governing disclosure, the balancing exercise between beneficiary rights and trustee discretion, and the factors courts consider when determining whether such information should be made available. It will also address strategic considerations for both applicants and trustees, including confidentiality, the scope of fiduciary duties, and the potential impact of disclosure requests on trust administration and family relationships. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 11:35 AM - 12:35 PM | It seems like a buzzword these days - ‘reputation’ - but our clients have one and we need to make sure it’s good. In a world of social media which is increasingly scrutinising the wealthy, what skills do we need to advise them? Viewing ourselves as strict lawyers is now out of date, will we be left behind if we don’t have these skills? | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
