Chanley T. Howell is a partner at Foley & Lardner LLP, where he counsels clients at the intersection of technology, law, and business. With more than three decades of experience, Chanley is recognized as a seasoned intellectual property and technology law attorney who helps organizations navigate complex legal issues in areas such as artificial intelligence, privacy, cybersecurity, technology transactions, and data management.
Chanley is a key member of Foley’s Technology Transactions, Cybersecurity, and Privacy Practice and has particular depth representing clients across the health care, financial services, automotive, and hospitality sectors. He works closely with corporate leaders and legal teams on AI implementation, ethical governance, risk mitigation, contract drafting, and regulatory compliance. In addition to advising on emerging technology solutions, he frequently leads training sessions and workshops for executive management, boards of directors, and key stakeholders on responsible and legally compliant use of cutting-edge technologies.
