Thai Trower is vice president and BSA officer at Marqeta, responsible for global financial crime compliance and economic trade sanctions. She is also a licensed attorney and former bank general counsel.
With over 20 years' experience in counterterrorism and financial crime compliance, Thai is a frequent lecturer and industry speaker with presentations to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Central Intelligence Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation and global industry trade associations. In 2018, she received appointment as a civilian to the Counter Threat Finance Working Group, United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Department of Defense, MacDill Air Force Base.
Previously, Thai served as Head of Global Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions Operations for Google, Inc. She was responsible for financial crime compliance operations in over 150 countries and managed a team, including business process operators of over 900 individuals in ten countries. Prior to Google, Thai spent eleven years with Walmart, Inc. supporting financial crime and trade sanctions compliance.
