Save the Children is the world’s leading independent organisation for children. We save children’s lives. We fight for their rights. We help them to fulfil their potential. In everything we do we aim to put the most deprived and marginalised children first. Our vision is a world where every child survives, learns and is protected. We work to ensure that no child dies from preventable causes before their fifth birthday; all children have access to a good-quality basic education; and violence against children is no longer tolerated.

Standing side by side with our supporters, we change the world for children through innovative development programmes, life-saving humanitarian work, bold campaigns, and high-impact partnerships. Last year we reached over 50 million children worldwide.

In Africa, we opened our first African programme, a child welfare centre in Addis Ababa in the early 1930s. Since then we have worked tirelessly to ensure that we respond to the needs of children across the continent. We continue to spend a significant amount of our funding and resources in Africa and our commitment to transforming and safeguarding children’s lives on the continent remains steadfast. Increasing challenges like a fast-growing population, political instability, climate change and disease, require us to come up with creative ways of working to make sure every last child grows up healthy, educated and protected.

Gleason Publications (Pty) Ltd opened its doors in October 1998. It publishes two niche publications: without prejudice and DealMakers.

without prejudice is supported by a number of law firms; its editorial independence and integrity are jealously guarded. The magazine publishes articles that are current and germane and a wide range of contemporary legal issues are comprehensively discussed in a manner applicable and relevant to practising lawyers while accessible to those outside the legal profession. without prejudice has been called ‘a rare source of invaluable information’. The magazine was first published in October 2001 and added a digital offering in November 2013. The search engine of the digital offering of without prejudice makes it a unique research tool.

Sister publication DealMakers, a quarterly publication that focuses on Mergers & Acquisitions and general corporate finance, was first published in the second quarter of 2000. Catalyst, which covers private equity and venture capital, and DealMakers Africa are incorporated within its covers. The magazine includes deal tables, rankings, and ‘Thort’ articles which cover matters that impact the industry.
