Burnout Isn't a Personal Failure: Addressing Toxic Systems and Reclaiming Sustainable Ways to Work
Description

Burnout is often framed as an individual issue, but in reality it is driven by organizational systems, expectations and workplace dynamics that make sustainable performance nearly impossible. This session challenges the idea that resilience is measured by endurance, examining how workload distribution, power structures and “always on” cultures fuel chronic exhaustion and overwork, particularly for women. Panelists will unpack how to identify and address the true drivers of burnout, why surface level wellness initiatives rarely create meaningful change, and what it takes to redesign work in ways that support both performance and well being. Attendees will leave with practical strategies to influence healthier team norms, model sustainable leadership behaviors and help build environments where people can thrive without sacrificing themselves.
