Description
As more smart technology comes online – whether in the connected car, insurance claim evaluation and fraud detection, or automated credit applications and pricing – legal and ethical considerations are starting to pile up. In the legal field, adoption of AI is increasing for legal research, contract review, litigation strategy, e-discovery, and more. However, as with most new technology many of the ethical implications of these tools remain unclear. What it all boils down to is that AI is dependent upon the diversity and inherent bias of the experts training it to mimic their decision-making. This session will examine legal protections, ethical considerations and safeguarding against decisions by automated algorithmic models trained on discrete data-sets. Plus, as we look towards the future will there be a profession wide mandate to use AI to remain competent?
