Description
Historically, the GC’s role was to advise and the CEO’s role was to execute. However, those lines are blurring as more and more lawyers transition into business roles. Beyond objectively analyzing legal and ethical issues, today’s executive lawyers combine business savviness with traditional legal skills to strategize with their executives and to seek out commercial opportunities for their companies. This shift has bridged the gap between the GC and the rest of the C-suite. Our panel will explore which factors contribute most to this changing dynamic, how legal professionals can leverage their skills  into executive business roles, and how they can use their legal backgrounds to excel in non-legal leadership positions.
