An experienced strategic communications consultant with almost 25 years’ experience, Chris heads up Beattie’s global crisis practice. A former staff reporter at The Sun newspaper, he has a wealth of contacts from a broad spectrum of UK and international media, and has devised strategic communications programmes across a range of sectors, including education and research; energy and utilities; property, planning and construction; banking, finance and insurance; transport and logistics; law, HR and health and safety; security and defence; and the third sector.



A renowned specialist in issues and crisis management, he has a wealth of experience in managing the reputations of businesses in times of need. Chris – an honours graduate in law (LL.B) – is a member of the CIPR, a regular judge for the PRCA annual awards, a main board member of business innovation charity Young Enterprise Scotland and a Trustee of leading disability charity Capability Scotland. He is also responsible for the implementation of Beattie’s quality management policy, which is accredited to ISO 9001: 2015. He is a regular commentator on crisis and reputation issues, having recently appeared on Radio 4’s World at One and ITN News at Ten, as well as in The Times, PR Week, Legal Week, The Grocer, and a range of trade and sector publications.
