Bassam is a veteran in the banking and finance industry, with an impressive record spanning various sectors including energy projects, corporate commercial, M&A, real estate, and governance. He has previously served as the Chief Legal Officer and Board Secretary at Emirates Development Bank and as the Group Head of Legal – C&IB (Corporate & Investment Banking) at Emirates NBD Group. His previous experience also includes substantial roles at esteemed law firms, which all contribute to his profound legal expertise.

Bassam is a qualified Solicitor of England and Wales. He holds an LL.M. in International and Comparative Law from the Robert H. McKinney School of Law, Indiana, USA, and has completed postgraduate courses in International Finance Law from the University of London, UK. His education is further supplemented by LMA Loan Documentation Training which he completed in London in 2014.
