Scott A. Milner is a Chambers ranked litigator and legal entrepreneur who has practiced at the intersection of law, technology, and design for nearly two decades. Scott is the global practice leader of Morgan Lewis’s eData practice, a data-driven practice that is transforming the delivery of legal services by leveraging people, processes, and technology to reimagine the work lawyers do. While at the helm, Scott has assisted in developing industry-leading best practices and strategies for sensible, defensible information governance, discovery, and litigation readiness.
Scott counsels and advises companies in electronic discovery and information governance processes and best practices. He works with Morgan Lewis’s lawyers across practice groups to tailor strategies and discovery management plans for clients around the globe, in numerous industries and disciplines. Scott’s practice encompasses all phases of eDiscovery, from preservation and collection to review and production of large volumes of electronically stored information (ESI). Scott participates in 26(f) conferences, negotiates ESI protocols and FRE 502(d) orders along with advising clients on collection and search and retrieval methodologies. Clients frequently engage and rely on Scott to negotiate discovery protocols with several U.S. government agencies, as well as numerous state U.S. Attorneys’ offices. He serves as eDiscovery liaison in jurisdictions across the United States, negotiates TAR protocols, and handles motions practice related to discovery disputes.
Sharing almost two decades of experience in eDiscovery, Scott is a trusted thought leader in the industry, frequently speaking and writing articles on topics in the AI including the Ethics of AI, legal data intelligence (LDI), discovery, data incident response, IG, innovation, and disruption space. Scott is one of LDI’s founding members, was recognized as an AI Visionary, a finalist as an Attorney Tech Evangelist, recognized as a Legal Technology Trailblazer, Scott’s LATHOS application won the Tech-Enabled Litigation Department of the Year award at the 2022 Legalweek’s Leaders in Tech Law Awards and our eData Tech Stack won the E-Discovery Technology and Innovation award in the law firm category at the 2024 Legalweek’s Leaders in Tech Law Awards.
Scott received his J.D., cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law and B.A. from the University of Florida.
