Ruth C. Hauswirth specializes in eDiscovery, document retention and information governance counseling and is also the director of Cooley's litigation and eDiscovery services department. Ruth developed and oversees Cooley's electronic discovery resources and focuses on the strategic use of legal and technology solutions to handle electronically stored information in complex litigation matters - including document retention and management, preservation, collection, review and production in compliance with a variety of regulatory and jurisdictional areas. She also serves on Cooley's risk management committee where she is involved in the creation and implementation of risk management policies, training and compliance programs.From 2000 to 2011, Ruth was also responsible for Cooley's professional development department. In collaboration with attorneys firm wide, she developed the content for Cooley's training programs including"Cooley College" for new attorneys as well as advanced seminars, skills workshops, multi disciplinary programs and training programs in specific practice groups and disciplines. She coordinated with Cooley's marketing personnel to present this content to clients, as well. Ruth also oversaw Cooley's Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program in all offices and was active in establishing training and orientation programs for both summer associates, first year associates and lateral attorneys. Additionally, Ruth contributed to the development and teaching of training programs for Cooley managers and staff, including paralegal and secretarial professionals.
