Chris Laut is the Director of Library & Knowledge Services at Sullivan & Worcester. He has also held the positions of Director of Information Services and Competitive Intelligence at Liberty Mutual Insurance and Director of Library Services at Hemenway & Barnes, among other roles.

Laut is currently immediate past chair of the Private Law Librarians & Information Professionals Special Interest Section (PLLIP-SIS) of the American Association of Law Libraries and is a past president of the Association of Boston Law Librarians. He has been a member of the Bloomberg Law Knowledge Management Advisory Committee since 2019 and a Trustee of the Insurance Library of Boston since 2016. He is a publicly elected official in his town of Georgetown, Massachusetts, as a Trustee of the Georgetown Peabody Library since 2007. In the past, he was an inaugural member of the Thomson Reuters Westlaw Corporate Advisory Committee and has volunteered on a number of PLLIP-SIS committees. Laut has spoken at numerous conferences on the subject of knowledge management and legal artificial intelligence, and authored the chapter “AI Tools and Applications” in the New York Law Institute’s 2019 book, Law Librarians in the Age of AI.
