Darryl Chiang is a Legal Director at Google in New York, where he manages the commercial legal team for Google Search, News, and Maps.

Darryl and his team focus on content access and licensing deals with publishers and platforms, including deals related to AI/ML training and grounding. Darryl also chairs the Google Legal Department's Forms & Drafting team and co-wrote Google’s Terms of Service.

Before joining Google in 2006, he was in-house counsel at Hitachi America and Bio-Rad Laboratories in San Francisco. He started his career at Latham & Watkins after clerking for Chief Judge Judith N. Keep on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California.

Darryl graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Law School.
