Melissa Dalziel is Counsel in Alston & Bird’s Atlanta office, where her practice focuses on the practical and defensible implementation of artificial intelligence across all stages of litigation. She advises clients and attorneys on best practices and emerging legal developments related to electronic discovery, data privacy, and cybersecurity incident response.

Melissa conducts PII and GDPR reviews for European clients litigating in U.S. courts, as well as for organizations responding to data breaches. She has evaluated more than 20 generative AI tools designed for legal practice, has deployed seven or more of those tools in live matters, and actively collaborates with multiple technology providers on product development and refinement. In addition, she counsels clients on the creation and governance of AI use policies to support responsible adoption.
