Speaker Bio
After more than a decade in the Civil Rights Division, I made the difficult decision to resign from what was truly my dream job. I'm incredibly grateful to have served. I had the immense privilege of standing up in federal court, representing the United States of America, to advocate for victims of unlawful discrimination based on race, color, sex, national origin, disability, familial status, and religion. And more recently, I was fortunate to support the incredible work of all the sections in the Division -- including critical work to ensure voting rights, constitutional policing, and more. It’s difficult to describe the pride and sense of purpose that came with working to advance the Division's mission of protecting the civil and constitutional rights of all Americans. And I feel so lucky to have done this work alongside the most dedicated, brilliant, compassionate, courageous, and kind humans. Every day, I woke up excited to work, knowing I was part of a community that believed deeply in -- and worked tirelessly for -- justice, equity, and public service. I am incredibly proud of what my colleagues and I accomplished, and so thankful to have been a part of it. And although I am very sad this chapter is over, I'm excited for what's next. More on that soon.
