As McDermott Will & Emery’s Director of Knowledge Management – Litigation, Catherine leads the development and implementation of litigation-related knowledge management efforts for McDermott's Trial, Intellectual Property, Employment, and Antitrust practices. She works closely with other KM professionals, IT staff, data analysts, practice professionals, and the firm’s Director of AI Innovation to create internal resources, leverage technology and process improvement practices to optimize client services, and promote a culture of knowledge-sharing and practice innovation. Her efforts contributed to McDermott’s being named the Most Innovative Law Firm in North America by the Financial Times in December 2024. She is co-author of "Legal Process Innovation and Process Mapping" in PLI's Knowledge Management & Innovation: A Manual for Law Firms and Other Legal Services Organizations.

Catherine maintains an active pro bono practice representing refugees in asylum proceedings and sits on the Board of Directors for the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights. In 2019, she was part of a team honored with the Capital Area Immigrants' Rights Coalition's Detained Adult Champion Award, and in 2018, she was Tahirih Justice Center's Greater DC Pro Bono Attorney of the Year. Before transitioning to the knowledge management sphere in 2016, she was a practicing litigator for 13 years and represented a wide range of Fortune 500 clients in complex commercial litigation matters before federal and state trial and appellate courts, with a focus on securities and regulatory matters involving financial institutions and financial products.
