Kathleen is a partner in Seyfarth's data law group, based in their San Francisco office. She leads the firm's data science practice and is the West Coast eDiscovery litigation lead. Kathleen's practice focuses on the intersection of data and the law and spans data privacy, data science, electronic discovery, and information governance.
Kathleen has significant experience counseling companies regarding data protection, information security, analytics, and AI. Her areas of privacy knowledge include advising on domestic state level privacy and compliance work (including CCPA/CPRA); defending against CIPA (California’s Invasion of Privacy Act) claims; analyzing website-related disclosures; counseling on international cross-border privacy and compliance; and advising on information governance and record retention.
Further, Kathleen's work in spearheading Seyfarth’s use of data science in litigation and counseling matters has contributed to keeping the firm on the cutting edge of the legal practice.
