Chris Carsen is the chief legal officer at Planview, responsible for managing the legal function globally, including corporate governance, privacy, intellectual property, and litigation. Chris joined Planview in July 2021, bringing more than 25 years of technology and privacy law experience. In addition to heading up all things legal and compliance, Chris is also the Executive Sponsor of Planview’s Employee Resource Groups and the Pride ERG.
Prior to joining Planview, Chris founded Carsen Law PLLC, which provided outside general counsel and technology contracting services for clients across the United States, while creating flexible job opportunities for working moms. Previously, Chris was the General Counsel of Corel Corporation (now doing business as Alludo), a private-equity-held global B2B and consumer software company, as well as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Mattersight Corporation (now a part of NICE Ltd.), then a publicly traded SaaS company.
Before going in-house, Chris spent the first half of her career in law firms in Chicago, including as a partner at Winston & Strawn, where she focused exclusively on IT commercial transactions, ecommerce, and privacy law.
Chris is a graduate of Cornell Law School and the University of Iowa, where she graduated with honors with degrees in history and psychology.
