EVP and CLO – Public Policy, Responsible Business, Legal & Security
Vandana is EVP Public Policy and Chief Legal Officer of Verizon, and leads a world class team of Public Policy, Responsible Business, Legal and Security professionals. In this role, she is focused on the critical legal, policy, and security issues which matter most to Verizon’s customers, shareholders, and employees.
Prior to assuming her current role in 2022, Vandana was the Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Verizon Consumer Group, connecting over 100 million consumers daily through our award-winning networks and services. She has also served as Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for Verizon's Enterprise business unit, serving global enterprises and governments, including a majority of Fortune 500 companies. She has held other roles at Verizon leading the legal functions for Verizon’s IT and Sourcing & Procurement organizations, supporting transactions for all of Verizon’s spend as well as data security, outsourcing, and supply chain issues impacting Verizon.
Prior to joining Verizon, Vandana worked at the law firms Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton and Bingham, Dana & Gould, where she provided counsel to internet, high-tech, and biotech startups. Prior to her legal career, she served as an aide to Congressman Henry Waxman.
Vandana has supported mentoring and increasing educational opportunities for college access and success. She previously served on the board of Bottom Line, an organization that promotes opportunities for first generation college students. She serves on the board of the National Association of Manufacturers, the nation's largest manufacturing industrial trade association, representing 14,000 small and large manufacturing companies.
Vandana holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law School, a Master's degree, and a Bachelor's degree in History from UCLA.
