Marla brings over 35 years’ expertise to her role as general counsel. She is a respected attorney, strategic advisor, and thought leader who speaks regularly on legal technology, electronic discovery, and legal operations issues. Marla spent 22 years practicing law at the prestigious international firm, Jones Day, specializing in the discovery phase of litigation. She also served as associate general counsel for Goldman Sachs for 11 years where she built and led the firm’s global eDiscovery practice and focused on complex commercial and securities litigation and regulatory investigations. She is an advisory board member of Legal Week; a fellow of the College of Law Practice Management; a member of CHIEF; an advisory board member of the cybersecurity company, CALAMU; and was on the Educational Advisory Board of CLOC. She was a 2024 ALM Lifetime Achievement Award winner, a Corporate Counsel Business Journal 2024 50 Women to Watch, a Leadership Award winner of the Electronic Discovery Institute, and a Fastcase 50 Honoree. She also proudly created the SPLASH movement (Service Providers Leading Against Sexual Harassment) and was a founding member of the Women in Ediscovery's Operation Safe Spaces. Marla earned a bachelor’s degree in public policy from Duke University and graduated magna cum laude from Boston University School of Law.
