Carla Swansburg is the CEO of ClearyX, a wholly owned, independently operated subsidiary of Cleary Gottlieb. ClearyX develops and implements new and innovative models of legal service delivery for the firm and its clients. ClearyX is a fully remote, global tech-forward team focused on reimagining how legal services can be delivered in ways that provide improved efficiency, high quality work product and a better client experience, at a lower cost.
Carla began her career as a litigator at a large Canadian law firm, then moved in-house to one of Canada’s largest banks where she led the disputes and investigations team, then served as the Chief Innovation Officer at a Canadian national firm. Before helping launch ClearyX, she led the Canadian & LatAM businesses of Epiq. She served as one of the first Presidents for the Ontario Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. In 2024 she was awarded a Lifetime Achievement award by ALM Leaders in LegalTech.
