Gregory R. Harvey is an experienced corporate attorney whose practice centers around legal matters pertaining to data privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence. He currently serves as Senior Counsel | Data Privacy and Cybersecurity at National Grid, an international, publicly traded company in the energy and utilities sector. At National Grid, his responsibilities include (1) partnering closely with HR, IT, security, ethics, compliance, government affairs, procurement, and other business units on matters related to data privacy, data protection, and artificial intelligence, in order to provide practical, strategic, and business-minded legal advice; (2) serving as the legal subject matter expert for all US operations on state, federal, and international data privacy law including the CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, and GDPR; (3) contract negotiation with vendors, corporate partners, and nonprofit entities wherever data privacy and protection issues may be implicated; and (4) serving as primary legal advisor and escalation point for investigation and response to cyber incidents.

Gregory completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law. He is also a member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals with the designations of Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and (CIPP/E), as well as Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM).

Gregory also serves as a board member for ClassMate JA, a nonprofit organization with a mission to support primary school students of Jamaica by providing technology supplies to its partner schools, thanks to donors around the world.

In his free time, he is an avid reader and road cyclist.
