Michael Powers is an attorney with over twenty years of experience working in the life sciences industry. He has extensive experience in all phases of clinical research, corporate governance, global transactional matters, intellectual property, labor & employment, and regulatory compliance. Michael currently serves as the Philadelphia based General Counsel of the not-for-profit research organization The GOG Foundation, Inc. (“GOG”). At GOG, he oversees a Legal Department of four attorneys. Prior to joining GOG in 2016, Mr. Powers was a member of the FDA/Pharmaceuticals Group of the national law firm Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney in the firm’s Princeton Office. From 2003 to 2010, Powers served as the head of the PharmaNet Legal Department, an international CRO subsequently acquired by Syneos Health.
Mr. Powers received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Emory University in Atlanta and his law degree from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. He is admitted to the bars of New Jersey and Pennsylvania and is a member of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel.
Michael and his wife Nancy reside in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
