Jon M. Garon is Professor of Law and Director of the Goodwin Program for Society, Technology, and the Law at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law where he served as Dean from 2014-2020. He also served as dean at Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota from 2003 to 2008 and interim dean of the Hamline Graduate School of Management from 2005 to 2006. Between his deanships, he was inaugural director of the Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Law + Informatics Institute and its Lundsford Academy.

Professor Garon has focused on law and technology for decades, writing numerous law review articles and books on the subject. His most recent book is How AI, Metaverses, Crypto, and Cyber will Upend the 21st Century (2024), which will be available in August and his earlier books include Parenting for the Digital Generation: The Parent's Guide to Digital Education and the Online Environment (2022) and A Short and Happy Guide to Privacy and Cybersecurity Law (2020).

He is presently completing The Law and Regulation of Artificial Intelligence in a Nutshell for West; Professional Competence in the Technological Age for Carolina Academic Press; and The Law of Digital Content for ABA Books.
