Maria Gallo is the Director of Special Investigations & FCPA Services at TransPerfect Legal. Prior to joining TransPerfect Legal, Maria spent 11 years at the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission investigating and enforcing alleged FCPA violations in the LATAM region. During her time at the SEC, as the lead LATAM FCPA investigator, Maria regularly interviewed witnesses, assessed corporate internal controls and compliance programs, and analyzed digital evidence, financial transactions, compliance reports, and S.E.C. filings. Maria holds a law degree from Colombia and an L.L.M. from the Cardozo School of Law. She is fluent in Spanish and English and has in-depth exposure to common law and civil law legal systems.
