Elaine is a partner and head of the Carey Olsen Guernsey dispute resolution and litigation team where she advises both local and international clients on commercial litigation and employment, data protection and intellectual property (IP) matters. She is recognised as a leading lawyer in these fields and appears regularly in courts and tribunals at all levels in Guernsey.
Elaine has also been named as a leading lawyer in the Citywealth Leaders Lists each year from 2009 to 2019.
Elaine is a member of both the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists and is a member of the Channel Islands Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Elaine is also a member of the Chancery Bar Association.
She is past representative of the finance sector on the Population Employment Advisory Panel as representative of Guernsey's financial service industry. Elaine is also vice president of the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce.
Elaine was appointed as an Adjunct Professor of Civil Litigation to the Guernsey Bar: one of only two practitioners from the private Bar to be appointed to these roles.
Elaine is a Certified International Privacy Professional (CIPP/E).
