Nancy Newman has directed high-performing marketing, business development and public relations initiatives in some of the most competitive law firms in the United States. Over more than 30 years as a marketing and business development professional, Nancy has emerged as a leader in industry-centric and client-focused approaches.
Before joining Robins Kaplan LLP as the firm’s first-ever senior business development coach, Nancy consulted with AmLaw 50 firms as a business development coach and trainer. Prior, she was the National Director of Marketing and Business Development for Dreier LLP. As Director of Client Relations at Goodwin Procter, she directed marketing and business development strategy for the Firm’s national real estate and public finance practices. She played an integral role in driving Goodwin Procter’s positioning, messages and strategy in the California markets. Prior to Goodwin, Nancy served as Senior Director of Marketing at Pillsbury, where she spearheaded national marketing initiatives for the real estate, public finance, entertainment and insolvency groups. She was also the Marketing Director for leading real estate law firm Cox, Castle Nicholson. Before her legal marketing career, Nancy worked in Major Account Sales and Marketing at Xerox Corporation, where she exceeded a multi-million dollar sales quota for client NBC, earning recognitions of “Top Sales Account Manager” and “Xerox National Search for Heroes.”
Nancy’s leadership in the Westside Food Bank, United Way and the Hispanic Association for Professional Advancement garnered her the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Women Who Make a Difference” and the YWCA’s “Phenomenal Woman” awards. Nancy volunteers as a mentor to young Hispanic women. She has performed stand-up comedy at the Improv, Comedy Store and Ice House. She speaks at Legal Marketing Association seminars, and is a resident of Venice, California.
