Organizations of all types face the threat of data breaches, and many must comply with an increasingly complex array of data privacy requirements. The United States may lack a comprehensive, federal data privacy and data protection law, but that doesn’t mean organizations are not subject to an alphabet soup of substantial domestic and international requirements, including—but certainly not limited to—those from BIPA, the CCPA, the CPRA, the DPA, the FTC, and the GDPR. Join us as a panel of experienced attorneys and data privacy/data protection experts provide a roadmap for addressing these issues.
We’ll examine recent developments, including California voters’ approval in November of the California Privacy Rights Act, recent case law, the latest actions by the Federal Trade Commission, and domestic and international obligations as we approach the third anniversary of the effective date of Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation.
