Samuel Whitman is Mayer Brown’s Global KM Manager responsible for providing strategic advice on the Firm’s KM systems and policies and overseeing the Knowledge Department’s global operations and projects. Samuel has extensive experience working with Professional Support Lawyers, Partners and other KM leaders to develop the Firm’s standard forms, document automation, matter process pathways, and electronic closing binders and to raise lawyer awareness of KM’s best practices and policies. He also is a member of the Firm’s embrio innovation initiative which is a coordinated program harnessing Mayer Brown’s expertise in legal process improvement, knowledge management and technology to design new, creative approaches to effective and efficient legal service delivery.
Originally from outside of Detroit, Samuel grew up in Shanghai and moved back to the U.S. to study International Relations at The American University in Washington, D.C. before heading back overseas to study law in London. After law school, Samuel became a Project Finance Associate in White & Case’s London office and later joined White & Case’s Knowledge Management team in New York. Samuel is admitted as a Solicitor in England & Wales
