Ruth C. Hauswirth, Special Counsel and Head of Litigation & eDiscovery, oversees Cooley’s eDiscovery and Information Governance practice and has been an attorney at Cooley since 1995. Ruth leads Cooley's Litigation & eDiscovery services department, which provides strategic use of legal technology solutions to handle ESI in litigation. Ruth advises clients on enterprise eDiscovery and information governance, including policy development, implementation, and compliance in a variety of regulatory and jurisdictional areas. Ruth frequently speaks on topics related to eDiscovery, law and technology, and well-being and mindfulness in legal practice.
Ruth is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of San Diego School of Law teaching Electronic Discovery Law. From 1999-2000, Ruth served as the Assistant Dean for Law and Technology at Santa Clara University School of Law and in 2000, she was named one of the Bay Area's Top Lawyers under Forty by the San Francisco Daily Journal.
