Dena DeNooyer Stroh has over 20 years of legal experience. She joined North Texas Tollway Authority in March 2015 as General Counsel and Ethics Officer. She previously served as General Counsel and Board Secretary for Murchison Oil and Gas for three years. Prior to her in-house counsel positions, she practiced complex commercial litigation at Gruber Hurst Johansen Hail Shank, LLP and Carrington, Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal, LLP and was elected to the partnerships of both firms. In 1999, she graduated from Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law, cum laude, and Order of the Coif, and in 1996, graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Psychology.

Dena chairs the Statewide Board of Texas General Counsel Forum. She has served as program director for the State Bar of Texas In-House 101 CLE since 2019. She was 2019-2020 Chair of the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors. Dena was 2017 President of Dallas Women Lawyers Association (DWLA), co-chaired the Women’s Advocacy Awards committee of Legal Aid of Northwest Texas from 2014 to 2016, and chaired Attorneys Serving the Community from 2012 to 2014. As 2009 President of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, she created a public service announcement campaign to educate the Spanish- speaking community about fraud, created a Teen Leadership Academy, and documented the history of the organization from 1978 to 2009 in written and video form. She was a member of the 2011 Class of Leadership Dallas of the Dallas Regional Chamber.

Dena was named General Counsel of the Year – Nonprofit/Government Agency at the 2024 ACC Corporate Counsel Awards. She received the 2021 Standing Ovation Award from TexasBarCLE. She also received the DAYL Outstanding Mentor Award in 2019, and was a finalist for the 2019 ACC Corporate Counsel Award for General Counsel of the Year for a Small Law Department. Under Dena’s leadership, NTTA was selected a finalist for 2018 Litigation of the Year and 2018 M&A Deal of the Year for the ACC Corporate Counsel Awards. Dena was selected as one of the “Dallas 500” in 2015 by D CEO Magazine, received the 2014 D CEO Magazine & ACC Corporate Counsel Award for Outstanding Community Service, and was selected as one of the “40 Under 40” in 2013 by the Dallas Business Journal.
