Monique serves as Vice President, Chief Privacy Officer & Associate General Counsel at Memorial Hermann Health System. In her role, she provides advice and counsel to the organization in respect to both complex and routine privacy, data sharing, data breach notifications, release of information, research and a variety of other legal issues impacting electronic medical records, data privacy, and data use. Prior to joining the legal and privacy departments, Monique spent six years in a variety of risk management positions at Memorial Hermann, including the Director of Risk Management at Memorial Hermann – Texas Medical Center and the System Director of Clinical Risk Management. Prior to her legal and risk management roles, Monique worked as a registered nurse for 10 years. Monique received her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in Nursing from Arizona State University, her juris doctorate degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, and hopes to finish her master’s degree in nursing.
