Dottie Schindlinger is Executive Director of the Diligent Institute, the corporate governance research and educational programs arm of Diligent Corporation, leading AI-powered provider of secure board communication and governance, risk and compliance software used by over 750,000 corporate leaders globally. In her role, Dottie provides thought leadership on governance, risk, compliance, strategy, cybersecurity, and ESG topics through presentations to boards and executives around the globe. Her work has been featured in Fortune, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and multiple governance and technology publications. She is co-author of the book, Governance in the Digital Age: A Guide for the Modern Corporate Board Director, and she co-hosts the fortnightly show, The Corporate Director Podcast. Dottie is also the co-creator of Diligent Institute’s Certification Programs for board members and executives, including Climate Leadership, Cyber Risk & Strategy, AI Ethics & Board oversight, and Human Capital, Compensation and Culture.

Dottie brings over twenty-five years’ experience in governance-related roles, including serving as a director, officer, committee chair, senior executive, governance consultant and trainer for private, public, and nonprofit boards. She was a founding team member of the tech start-up BoardEffect – a board management software provider focused on healthcare, association and nonprofit boards, acquired by Diligent in 2016. She is a guest lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Business Executive Education program Dottie is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Fellow of the Salzburg Global Seminar Corporate Governance Forum. She lives in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband, Ron.
