Cristina Nutzman has dedicated her legal practice to labor & employment law. For more than a decade, she has worked at large, global, Fortune 500 companies advising on a broad scope of labor and employment laws. She started her in-house career at Caterpillar, Inc. and thereafter spent time working for Thermo Fisher Scientific, and United Airlines. After United Airlines, Cristina joined the developing cannabis industry to create and lead an in-house legal team at Curaleaf, Inc. supporting labor, employment, worker safety as well as creating and leading the Labor Relations and Employee relations teams. Cristina is presently Associate General Counsel, Labor & Employment at Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC). HCSC is a member-owned, mutual legal reserve health insurance company based in Chicago, Illinois. As the country's largest nonpublic health insurer, HCSC serves over 27 million members through its broad portfolio of health plans and companies including operating as an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. Prior to her in-house career, Cristina worked at SmithAmundsen (now Amundsen Davis) as an associate advising small to mid-size employers on traditional labor law and employment law matters. Cristina commenced her legal career at the National Labor Relations Board, Region 13 as a Labor-Management Relations Investigator and Trial Attorney.

Cristina has dedicated her legal career to serving the Latino community through charitable and pro bono work. She has provided pro bono services and used her language fluency to serve Spanish-speaking clients and others through various organizations such as, Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, National Immigrant Justice Center, Equip for Equality, Center for Elder Law and Disability, Cabrini Green Legal Aid Expungement Help Desk, Prairie State Legal Services. Cristina has served on the Hispanic Lawyers Scholarship Fund of Illinois Board for twenty years holding various positions including Vice Chair, Secretary, Trustee and as Chair for the past six years. Through her collaborative leadership as Chair, HLSF has achieved record level fundraising with dedicated law firm and corporate sponsors.

Cristina earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Loyola University Chicago, a Master of Science in Human Resources from Loyola University Chicago, and a Juris Doctor from Chicago Kent College of Law.
