Jennifer Mailander is Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Fannie Mae, where she leads the Data, Technology & Transactions legal team. In this role, she advises on enterprise‑wide issues at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data governance, cybersecurity, privacy, and emerging technologies, helping the organization responsibly adopt innovative tools while safeguarding sensitive information and meeting regulatory expectations.
With deep experience guiding AI and data strategy in highly regulated environments, Jennifer works closely with business, technology, and risk teams to address vendor transparency, confidentiality, ethical use of AI, and evolving legal obligations. She brings a practical, solutions‑oriented perspective to managing hidden data and privacy risks that arise as AI tools become embedded in everyday business operations.
Jennifer is a nationally recognized in‑house leader and an active voice in the legal community. She is a founding member and former Chair of the Association of Corporate Counsel’s Women in the House (WITH) Network, has served as Chair of ACC’s Network Leadership Counsel, and is a recipient of ACC’s highest honor, the Robert I. Townsend, Jr. Member of the Year Award. She currently co‑chairs the DC chapter of The Quorum Initiative and is active in pro bono and leadership development efforts.
Prior to joining Fannie Mae, Jennifer held senior privacy and compliance roles at Comscore and Corporation Service Company. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science from Miami University.
