Michael Parks is the Technology Committee Chair of Thompson Coburn’s AI Task Force, where he helps guide the firm’s approach to emerging technologies and artificial intelligence.
Michael counsels clients on patent and trademark matters and represents them in federal courts across the United States. He has significant experience litigating patents across a wide range of technical disciplines, including complex electrical engineering and software-based technologies such as mobile computing, cellular communications, global positioning systems, and interactive television applications.
He has litigated patent matters in numerous federal courts, including the Eastern District of Texas, the District of Delaware, and the Northern District of Illinois. Michael also has substantial experience with patent reexaminations and advising clients on proposed and developing technologies.
On the trademark side, his practice includes trademark clearance, trademark litigation, and adversarial proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In addition, Michael has significant experience in copyright and right of publicity matters, both in litigation and counseling contexts.
