Meredith is EVP, General Counsel and Chief Ethics & Government Affairs Officer for Alliant Credit Union in Chicago, Illinois. Reporting to the CEO, as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, she leads the Legal and Audit Division, the Ethics Program, and Government Affairs. One of her biggest accomplishments was leading a multi-year effort to prepare the organization for increased regulatory oversight and scrutiny. Meredith has served as interim Chief Human Resources Officer, and she founded the first employee resource group at Alliant which has led to the establishment of five more ERGs. Prior to Alliant, Meredith was in-house counsel for Accenture, Deputy General Counsel for Central Management Services, Assistant Cook County State’s Attorney and a litigator in private practice.

Named one of the Most Powerful Women in Credit Unions in 2022 and 2023 by American Banker, and one of Crain’s Chicago Business Notable General Counsels in 2019 and 2021, Meredith is known for bringing pragmatic and creative business and legal solutions to her clients. Her consultative approach, coupled with her energy, positivity and thorough knowledge of the law, enable her to add value to the management team of her organization.

Currently, and in addition to her executive role at Alliant, Meredith is President of the Board of Directors of the Alliant Credit Union Foundation which is committed to digital opportunity and access. Additionally, Meredith is on the Board of Directors of the Association of Corporate Counsel, Chicago Chapter, Co-Chair of the Corporate Governance Sub-committee of the American Bar Association’s Credit Union Committee and Member of the Dean’s Advisory Council of DePaul University College of Law.
