Anne Tyler Hall is the Managing Partner of Hall Benefits Law (HBL), a boutique ERISA and employee benefits law firm based in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, she leads a team of experienced ERISA attorneys dedicated to providing comprehensive, personalized, and practical legal solutions to employers across the United States. Under her leadership, HBL has been recognized as the fastest-growing boutique ERISA firm in the nation for six consecutive years.

As part of her work at HBL, Ms. Hall spearheaded the development of TPA Negotiator™, a first-of-its-kind service tailored to helping employers negotiate fair and legal service agreements with third-party administrators (TPAs). By leveraging decades of experience in ERISA and employee benefits law, the TPA Negotiator™ service ensures that plan sponsors are equipped with clear, compliant, and cost-effective agreements that protect their interests and fiduciary responsibilities. This innovative solution reflects Ms. Hall’s commitment to providing cutting-edge legal services that address the evolving needs of plan sponsors.

Before founding HBL, Ms. Hall practiced ERISA and benefits law at Alston & Bird, LLP, and King & Spalding, LLP, two of Atlanta's largest law firms. Her experience at these firms provided her with a deep understanding of the complexities of employee benefits law and the importance of legally compliant benefit plans.

Ms. Hall's representative experience includes:
• Leading the negotiation of a reduction of more than 95% of the original 401(k) retirement plan penalty assessment by the Department of Labor for a multinational software company.
• Drafting and implementing a comprehensive deferred compensation program for a global architecture firm based in Atlanta.
• Negotiating a six-figure penalty waiver for a shipbuilding company assessed an Employer 'Pay or Play' Code Section 4980H penalty.
• Negotiating a settlement with the IRS to address a six-figure health plan design legal compliance issue on behalf of a national eyewear company.
• Reviewing a purchase agreement in a stock transaction and advising the parent company of its ERISA
obligations regarding providing long-term disability benefits to a legal employee of a recently acquired subsidiary for a multinational irrigation company.

In the past five years, Ms. Hall and her team have avoided or abated more than $80 million in penalties for plan sponsor clients. HBL serves clients in forty states, assisting plan sponsors in adopting a proactive approach to employee benefits legal compliance.

Ms. Hall is admitted to practice in Georgia, Alabama, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

She has contributed to the field through various writing and speaking engagements, including articles in Law360 and webinars on topics such as retirement plan compliance, the Mental Health Parity Act, and effective strategies for negotiating with TPAs.

Ms. Hall holds a Master of Laws in Taxation, with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center, a Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law, a Master of Science in International Development from the University of Bath, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics, magna cum laude, from Birmingham-Southern College.
