James. D Schultz is a corporate executive, attorney and policy advisor. He currently serves as Executive Vice President of Global Legal and Public Policy at Scientific Games, where he leads the legal, public policy and corporate affairs teams for the company and also serves as a key leader focusing on strategic business growth.

Schultz brings more than two decades of experience providing legal counsel to major corporations, institutions, high-profile individuals, corporate executives and governments leaders, including the President of the United States and the Governor of Pennsylvania.

Specifically, Schultz served as General Counsel to Governor Tom Corbett of Pennsylvania and Senior Associate Counsel and Special Assistant to the President Donald J. Trump in the Office of White House Counsel. In these roles, he provided legal counsel on major government transactions, litigation, ethics and compliance, and a variety of regulatory, legislative and administrative law matters. In addition, Schultz has advised and served as an appointee for many government officials on both sides of the aisle. In 2016-2017 he served as Deputy Counsel to the Presidential Transition Team for President Donald J. Trump, and in 2022 served in a leadership role on the transition team of Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania. In 2023, he served on transition team for Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker. He served as a senior campaign advisor for United States Senator David McCormick of Pennsylvania on his successful race in 2024.

Schultz is active in his community. He currently serves as a gubernatorial appointee and Chairman of the Delaware River Port Authority, a regional transportation agency that serves as a steward of four (4) bridges and a transit line that cross the Delaware River between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He serves as a board member with Visit Philly, the region’s non-profit organization dedicated to promoting tourism, serves on the Board of Councilors to the prestigious Pennsylvania Society, and serves on the Board of Trustees for Rosemont College. Schultz previously served as a gubernatorial appointee to the Philadelphia Shipyard Development Corporation.

In private practice, Schultz was a partner and served in management roles with both Holland & Knight and Cozen O’Connor in their Philadelphia and Washington, DC offices. In private practice, Schultz represented major corporations and utilities in the energy, water, transportation, insurance, gaming and technology sectors.

Schultz holds a Bachelor of Arts from Temple University and a Juris Doctor from Widener University Commonwealth Law School.
