Javier Oroz is Chief Risk Officer, General Secretary and a member of AXA México’s Executive Committee. He oversees the company’s Legal, Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, Public Affairs, Anti-Fraud, Internal Control, Crisis Management, and Simplification & Continuous Improvement functions. He graduated with honors from Universidad La Salle and completed executive education programs at Harvard, IMD Switzerland and Libre de Derecho IN Monterrey, Mexico. He also holds a Master’s degree from Universidad Regiomontana and has been recognized by Chambers & Partners, Legal 500, LACCA, ACC and IBA as one of Latin America’s leading in-house lawyers. Javier’s career extends well beyond traditional legal practice. Among his most notable achievements, he led the development of an AI-powered predictive litigation platform that uses advanced analytics to forecast litigation outcomes and support strategic decision-making in response to Mexico’s Judicial Reform. He has also played a leading role in one of Mexico’s landmark VAT controversies affecting the insurance industry, designing the legal, regulatory and public policy strategy behind the case.
