Kristen Chittenden is an innovative, creative, and practical leader. A teacher at heart with a business-centered focus, Kristen distills and explains complex legal concepts, guiding businesses through risk while maintaining commercial momentum.

She is the VP, Deputy General Counsel of Turnitin, a leading global SaaS education platform that provides anti-plagiarism software, AI-writing detection, and assessment solutions. Prior to joining the company, Kristen was General Counsel for Lykes Bros. Inc., a Florida-based, large land-holding company. Early in her career, she was an appellate law clerk for Florida’s Second District Court of Appeal, and then she became a litigator before moving in-house. She holds both a JD and an MBA and has broad experience lead both legal and business development departments in other sectors. Kristen received her M.B.A. following law school and is currently teaching a course on AI and the Law as an adjunct professor at Stetson University College of Law. She is passionate about breaking down barriers that prevent attorneys from advancing their careers and using their skills to help clients.
