Speaker Bio
Richard Bistrong is a prominent figure in the fields of anti-bribery and compliance, known for his unique journey from corruption to becoming a leading consultant and speaker on ethics and compliance issues. He spent much of his career as an international sales executive, where he was deeply involved in the operations of global business, including roles as Vice President of International Sales for a major manufacturer of police and military equipment.
In 2007, Bistrong became involved in a significant investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice related to violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). As part of a cooperation agreement, he assisted U.S., U.K., and other governments in understanding the mechanics of FCPA violations, operating undercover for several years. His cooperation ultimately led to his own prosecution, and in 2012, he was sentenced to 14 and a half months in federal prison.

After serving his sentence, Bistrong turned his life around and founded Front-Line Anti-Bribery LLC, where he now consults, writes, and speaks on anti-bribery and compliance issues from his front-line perspective. He has become a sought-after speaker and has presented to a wide range of audiences, including major multinational corporations and international organizations. His work has earned him recognition in the compliance community, including being named one of the top 50 social influencers in risk and compliance by Thomson Reuters.

Richard Bistrong's experience and insights are especially valuable in helping organizations navigate the complex challenges of compliance in international markets, particularly in regions prone to corruption.
